22 Things I Learned at 22

I’ve learned more life lessons in 2018 and 2019 than I have in my entire life so far. In honor of turning 22 this month, I decided to share 22 things I’ve learned that have impacted my life.

  1. Life is too short to not do what you want – Even if it means disappointing someone else
  2. True love exists – It’s the best feeling in the world
  3. Other people’s opinions are irrelevant – As long as you’re happy with yourself, that’s all that matters
  4. Fake it till ya make it – Having an “it is what it is” attitude gets you through a lot
  5. You never know what’s going on in someone’s life so be nice to everyone
  6. If life was easy, everyone would be successful – Work hard for what you want
  7. Don’t take the people you love for granted – Tell them you love them often
  8. Take every negative thing that happens in your life as a lesson and grow from it
  9. Appreciate the little things – It’s the little things that are actually the big things
  10. Social media isn’t that serious – 90% of it isn’t even real
  11. Don’t try to change who you are to fit in – You go nowhere
  12. God puts people in your life for a reason – Whether they stay or go
  13. You’re one of a kind – If people don’t realize that, then they don’t deserve you
  14. Speak up – Voice whatever is on your mind. Holding in your thoughts creates an unnecessary level of stress. Your voice deserves to be heard
  15. Time goes by FAST – Appreciate every step of your life, even the struggles
  16. Pick and choose your battles – Some things are just not worth fighting for
  17. You’re the only person you can trust 100% – Never rely on anyone else
  18. Always be open to learning new things – It’s okay to be wrong but don’t be ignorant
  19. What’s meant to be will be – Do your best at everything and if it’s truly meant to be, everything will work out
  20. Do things that scare you – Step outside your comfort zone. You’ll never know if you don’t try
  21. Gossiping reveals your own insecurities
  22. Life is better when no one knows what you’re up to
